Virtual Makeup Lessons with a Celebrity Makeup Artist
We are all trying our best to find our new normal, while at the same time looking something fun and productive to do during the Stay At Home Order.
I am sure each of your closets, garage, house and drawers are perfectly organized, so now what?
Each day, I am trying to do things that I normally don't have the time to do.
I must admit, I am used to going a million miles an hour being a Makeup Artist, Sepsis Advocate, Mother and being the CEO of Pretty Girl Makeup .
My photo shoots have all been put on hold, that my agent Brandi Moore of Artist Services has set up. The good news.. As soon as this passes, we will all be busy again and hopefully having learned some balance during this time. I have already seen that this "time out" is showing me that I need to slow down. Lesson learned Universe!
So here is the deal. I can complain, worry about the world being affected by this Virus and feel sorry for myself, but it's not my style.
The universe has given us some huge ass lemons, so all we can do is make the best lemonade the world has ever tasted!
I have revamped my Portfolio and started doing private and group virtual makeup lessons via Zoom!
The Pretty Girl Makeup website, has a brand new a new look , thanks to my BFF Jordan Black! There is an automatic discount Buy 2 and get 1 FREE!
Here are a few things that make me happy!
I like to start with a hot cup of Good Earth Spice Tea, I love it extra spicy, so I use two bags per cup.
,
Light my favorite Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous Candle. I love candles and the scent can really uplift your mood.
,
and depending on how I am feeling, I turn on my Sonos and blast either some Spa Music or I'm loving The Unreleased Mixes by Whitney Houston, Love Will Save The Day
* Put on a face mask , followed by coconut oil if you are feeling your skin is dehydrated and do a cleaning & conditioning of your makeup brushes.
When I am on a shoot, I wash and sterilize my brushes after each use. At the end of the day when I get home, a power sterilizing happens. My personal brushes get cleaned every (almost every ) on Sunday. Try using Neutrogena Makeup Wipes daily, and once a week, put them into warm water and wash with shampoo and hair conditioner. Rinse, and remove the excess water with a towel and air dry! The hair conditioner will make the brushes soft and will last for years.
* I love meditation and my new favorite is the 7 _Day Chakra Balancing Meditation Series by my friend Kama Hagar
If you are looking for balance, alignment and power, this week-long meditation series is made to balance and clear each and every one of the energy centers of the body through healing breath techniques, hypnotic mantras/affirmations, and calming guided imagery.
*Start planning a dream trip! I had a life changing experience at The Retreat Costa Rica with my daughter Melania and I plan to do it again as soon as it is possible! The Retreat in Costa Rica is heaven on earth! The Retreat Costa Rica is the innovation of celebrity chef, best-selling author, and health and wellness life-coach, Diana Stobo. Her goal was to create a transformational wellness center that has since become a distinctively Costa Rican experience of “Heaven on Earth” — a resort and spa where the guests experience a harmony of nature, nutrition, and wellness nestled among the lush vegetation of the rainforest.
* Go thorough all the makeup samples that are in "that drawer" in your bathroom. Sort out the samples you will actually use and with the left overs, make spa gift bags for friends and drop it off at their door as a surprise!
* Organize your makeup drawer with what you really use. Put your makeup brushes in a pretty vase or antique tea pot.
Let's start by tossing the old mascara that dried up months/ years ago. Mascara needs to be changed every three months. Trust me, it's not wine and getting better with time! The eyeshadows, eye pencils, blush, mascaras, lip liners, lipstick, lip gloss and concealers, separate into plastic containers. You will be able to see everything and will use all the products, not just the ones that are at the top of the makeup drawer.
* Make a list of new products to buy or old favorites you need to reorder.
* Look at your makeup from a different perspective. Pretend it's your best friend's makeup and you are in charge of getting rid of what she is not using and add products that are missing.
Here is my rule, if you have not used any product in 6 months, return it, toss it, or give it to someone who will enjoy it!
* Book a Makeup Lesson: learn new day and evening makeup tricks, how to become a makeup artist, what are the best products and colors for you, skincare and nutrition to have flawless skin.
Group and Private lessons are available www.christinaflach.com to schedule.
